ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Dr. Denise Buchanan is the Founder and CEO of FAITH HAS FEET, an initiative dedicated to empowering inter-faith and youth leaders to create safe and healthy communities for children by transforming their faith into positive, impactful actions.
As a Psychoneurologist, Author, Harvard Sustainable Business Strategist, Entrepreneur and Certified Human Rights Consultant, Dr. Buchanan is a Founding Member of ECA: Ending Clergy Abuse, A Global Justice Project. Over the past seven years, Denise has been instrumental in expanding the organization across five continents, uniting members from over 25 countries. ECA is a powerful coalition of thousands of human rights activists and survivors who hold the Roman Catholic Church accountable, demanding protection for children and justice for victims of clergy sexual abuse. She has been called on as a speaker at international events including at the United Nations, Vatican City, Jamaica, Uganda, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Warsaw and Berlin, underscoring her dedication to fostering global change and interconnectedness.
As a Jamaican survivor of clergy sexual abuse herself, Dr. Buchanan is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and she thrives in the realm of what’s possible. Dr. Buchanan recognized a profound disconnect between the teachings and laws of faith-based institutions, including the Catholic Church, and their actual implementation to safeguard children. This realization compelled her to create FAITH HAS FEET, an initiative dedicated to mobilizing inter-faith youth, congregants and community leaders. Through education, collaboration and the implementation of proven strategies, FAITH HAS FEET strives to protect children from violence and equip them with essential life skills and business acumen, to cultivate a prosperous future.

FAITH HAS FEET is a non-partisan, inter-faith, human rights organization which is on a mission to enhance the lives of young people and their communities by providing innovative programs that safeguard children and create safe, healthy and prosperous communities. We strive to empower children, youth and community leaders to mobilize their faith to create social impact.

FAITH HAS FEET leads cross-functional teams to address five critical areas: Safeguarding Education, Entrepreneurship, Food Insecurity, Social and Environmental Justice and Community Building.
